Outfits Coordination

To wear coordinates outfits during our session makes a huge visual difference: it creates harmony & a "togetherness” feeling.
As this is very important, I create a special document to guide you on that matter.

Thanks to the colors wheel & inspirational examples, you’ll pick up the best outfits for our session.

And if you feel overwhelmed by the task, I have the ultimate solution: a professional stylist!

Weather

Istanbul is magic also because there are 4 seasons. So, the weather can get cloudy & rainy (even snowy!).
I don’t think a cloudy weather would ruin a photo session. In the contrary, it can create a stronger atmosphere.

On the other hand, rain is not welcome for sure.
If the weather is cold, adding layers or even a thermal shirt underneath is the perfect way to go.

Then it’s up to you. I keep a number of backup dates open each month in case of bad weather, and there’s no charge to reschedule to a new date if it’s heavily raining. 

Early Morning Start

During summer, photo sessions will be early morning (7:30 am).

The main reasons why I choose such an early starting time are: 

- The early morning light is beautiful.
Later, the light becomes too harsh & creates strong shadows under eyes, noses & chins. 

- The temperatures are nice in early morning.
Later in the day, they rise & it can get really hot. 

- Places in Istanbul are quite empty early in the morning, except early workers, simit sellers & fishermen.
Later, the city awakes and gets crowded.

Force majeure & Sickness 

If a family member is sick on the day of our photo session, we will  of course postpone it. We all need to be in a great shape to have a great time together!

In case of force majeure & strong sickness, I reserve the right to postpone or cancel the photo session. 
The cancellation will not engage my responsibility & therefore it will not lead to any financial compensation.

In both circumstances, I will do my very best to propose available dates to organize another photo session or to find another photographer to substitute for me.
Their fees & services may be different than mine, as well as their style.

What do we do?

The preparation for the session is important: you’ll have nothing to worry about on the D day as everything is planned ahead.

The main idea of a photo session with me is to have a lovely family quality time.
So let’s have fun, let’s enjoy the moment, laugh, hug, kiss!

Love & happiness are what you want to see in your family pictures, now & 20 years from now!

You’ll have a wonderful experience, believe me!

Food & Drinks

As you know, there are food & drinks available everywhere in Istanbul. Simit, açma, water, soda, you name it, are very easy to find. So unless you prefer another kind of snack, we won’t stay hungry or thirsty long.

If you think a sweet treat (ok, let’s say it: a bribe!) would help your kids to really get into the photo session, please avoid chocolate (or anything potentially messy) & prefer an easy-to-eat small snack.
Just don’t mention it until we’re getting close to the end of the session or in case of real emergency!

A tea break in a nice place can also be a great moment to be photographed so don’t hesitate to let me know if you & the kids need a break. 

“I’m not comfortable in front of the camera”

I have to admit… Me neither :)!
It is part of my job to make you feel comfortable during the session.

So trust me, have fun & you’ll forget me!

If there is something you are self-conscious about, please let me know.
I’ll do my very best to capture you under the best light.

I can also give you tips to pose during the session. They might not feel natural but they work wonders!

Your Online Gallery

I think you deserve the best experience, from the beginning to the end.

And I think the way you discover your images is very important!

So I will send you a special email with the link to your private online gallery within 3 weeks after the session. 

Thanks to this gallery, you’ll be able to:
- discover your images in a beautiful way (even a diaporama!)
- download the images on your computer and on your dropbox
- share the gallery with your family and friends
- share your images in your favorite social medias
- select your favorite images

I will send your prints in a lovely package a few days after you selected your favorites (or I’ll deliver them to witness your happiness when you’ll open the paper wrap!).

Your Prints & Frames

I think pictures are taken to be printed out, not to stay on a hard drive within the possibility of getting lost for ever in case of a damage. A decade ago, we wouldn’t even think not to develop our films: a picture was A THING!

Nowadays, our images are digital & I know it takes time & effort to get them printed out, so we end up not doing it.

The experience of looking at pictures on a computer is nothing compared to looking at a photo album. And imagine looking up at a large & framed picture of your family in your living room.

I strongly believe your images deserve to be printed out. 

This is why gift prints, framed photos & albums are included in my offers.

Just pick your favorite pictures & rest. I’ll take care of the rest.

Copywrite & Print release

The copyright is owned by the person who creates the work. From the second I snap an image, it legally belongs to me, as the photographer, unless I sign it away otherwise, giving me the exclusive rights to determine how the image should be displayed & distributed. I am also the only person who can make alterations to my work. Since my name is associated with the images, I want to have complete control of how they look to ensure they are in line with my photography style that you are hiring me for.

The print release is different in that it gives you the permission to reproduce my images for your own personal use. If you want to make prints, canvases, albums using a source other than me, you are more than welcome to do that, but cannot use them for commercial reasons. For example, if you were approached by an editor of a magazine who wanted to buy your brand new family profile picture for the cover of their next edition, you would have to decline as they are not yours to sell.

To sum up, with the print release included in my offers:

✅ You can:
- Post them on all forms of social medias
- Print an unlimited amount of them in any form (photo, canvas, album, t-shirt, etc.)
- Share them with your family so they can do the same!

⛔️ You cannot:
- Edit or alter the images in any way, including cropping and filters.
- Claim the work as your own.
- Use the images for commercial gain.

Communication
on my website & social medias

I update my website regularly & post my work on social medias. I will love to share the result of our photo session too!

If you don’t want me to share some of your images, please let me know. 

Please tag my name when you will share your images on social medias, it always makes me happy 🥰…. and it helps your friends to know who created these images with you.

Responsibilities

I ensure the client to back up the files in high resolution during 1 year (except in case of unexpected disaster like fire, flood, damaged computer and / or hard drive). 

If you loose your images & want them again, I will ask a 20€ fee to create a new online gallery.

1 year after your session, my digital back up is not guaranteed anymore & the files can be deleted at any moment. I will send you a note before I delete anything to make sure everything is safe on your side.

I strongly recommend to save these images on a least 1 external hard drive & on an online cloud.
Of course, to print images & to create a photo album is the best way to save your images.
